"OTHER", "ANOTHER".

- allos
= another of the same kind (denoting numerical
distinction). The second of two where there may be more
: e.g.
Matt. 10:23; 25:16, 17, 20; 27:42, 61; 28:1. John 18:15, 16;
20:2-4.
Rev. 17:10. See note on John 19:18.
- heteros
= another of a different kind (usually
denoting generic
distinction). The "other" of two, where there
are only two : e.g. Matt. 6:24; 11:3. Luke 5:7;
7:41; 14:31;
16:13, 18; 17:34, 35; 18:10; 23:40.
- loipos
= the remaining one. Pl. = those
who are left.
- tines
= certain ones. 2Cor. 3:1
- kakeinos
= and that one there. Contraction
of kai
ekeinos, only translated
"other" in Matt. 23:25 and Luke
11:42.
- allotrios
= not one's own, belonging to another,
or others (Heb. 9:25). Hence a foreigner. See Luke
16:12
